CRADLE

- 17-year-old Haylee is caught between an unplanned pregnancy and increasingly distant parents, causing her to flee home in this award-winning short film

Cradle is the story of a seventeen-year-old girl, Haylee, who’s found herself with an unwanted pregnancy and stuck in a home with increasingly distant parents. When she impulsively acts on this by packing her bags and running away from home, she embarks herself on a journey that intertwines with a young homeless man whom has his own scarred history with family. Will Haylee find her home, and does her family have a place in it?

Shot in suburban Western Australia, Cradle is an emotional journey that bonds love, family and the struggles that come with that. It was produced and distributed in collaboration with ZKJ Productions as part of a two-project deal during 2018 (the other being “Faces in the Crowd”). It was a production with fluid roles, meaning that Zeke Morgan-Hind, Jake De Agrela and Jack Bett all shared the work load of directing, cinematography and sound production. It was written by Zeke Morgan-Hind, starring Tedra Jowelle and executive produced by Rebecca Ciallella.

The film released online on 17th December, 2018. Cradle went on to win the Best Student Film Award at the Static Film Festival 2020.
