Dispelling Dyslexia

- A dyslexic woman discovers she has little understanding of her condition; she embarks upon a journey to educate herself on all things dyslexia

“Dispelling Dyslexia” is a short documentary that follows a young woman, Danielle, as she embarks on a journey to discover more about herself and her dyslexia. She meets with her parents, specialists and other children with dyslexia in an attempt to discover more about the condition as well as dyslexia's impact on her personally.

The film was directed by Jake De Agrela, produced & written by Danielle McDonald, edited by Andy Baldock and shot by Great Bailey. Glen Stasiuk was the executive producer.

The first public screening and announcement of the film was on the 5th of December, 2018 at the SOLAR arts showcase for Murdoch University. The film released online less than a week later on the 10th of December, 2018.
